The content on lipedema.ua is prepared by the team of LIPEDEMA LLC, a lipedema clinic in Kyiv licensed by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This page explains the rules we follow.
Sources
We rely on sources in this order of priority:
- International consensus statements and clinical guidelines — including the Lipedema World Alliance consensus (2026), the German S2k guideline (2024) and the US standard of care (2021).
- Systematic reviews, meta-analyses and randomised controlled trials.
- Cohort studies, patient surveys and literature reviews — always with their limitations stated.
We use publications from peer-reviewed scientific journals, mostly those indexed in PubMed. Every factual statement in an article links to its source, with a DOI or PubMed ID so that it can be checked. We report figures as they appear in the original source, together with the sample size and study design.
Honesty about the evidence
- If the data are limited or conflicting, we say so.
- We do not present hypotheses as proven facts, and we do not generalise the results of small studies to all patients.
- When we discuss treatment, we always describe the benefits as well as the risks and limitations — including those of the surgery our clinic performs.
- We do not use advertising claims such as “the best”, “guaranteed results” or “risk-free”. Treatment results are individual.
Medical review
Medical content is reviewed by a clinic doctor. Once an article has been reviewed, its page shows the reviewing doctor’s name and the review date. The information on this site does not replace a consultation: diagnosis and treatment are decided by a doctor after an examination.
Updates
We review our content at least once a year and whenever important new studies or recommendations are published. The date of the last update is shown on every page.
Advertising and independence
We are a medical clinic that treats lipedema, and we make no secret of it. We keep information articles separate from service pages, and in our articles we describe all treatment options, not only those offered by our clinic.
Language versions
The main version of this website is in Ukrainian. The English and Russian versions are translations; if they differ, the Ukrainian version prevails.
Patient photos
Treatment result photos are published only with the patients’ written consent. We do not retouch bodies in the photos; we only match the scale and framing of before/after pairs so they can be compared.
